The most anticipated performance sedan in Acura’s history, the 2021 TLX Type S, the first Type S to return to Acura showrooms in over a decade, pre-sold its 119 unit, on-line Canadian allotment in a mere 8 hours.
Performance and luxury vehicle enthusiasts were encouraged to become one of the first to purchase the exclusive and sought after TLX Type S by visiting https://acura.ca/preorder#tlxtypes, and they did so in droves. Securing their $2500 deposit with an Acura dealer and reserving the first TLX Type S sedans to be delivered in Canada this June.
The good news is consumers can still get their hands on the utmost in Precision Crafted Performance. Although all on-line 2021 TLX Type S units are now reserved, customers can contact their local Acura dealer to order or go to www.acura.ca and put their name on the waiting list to get their hands on a Type S. Just 240 units in total will be available in Canada.
2021 Acura TLX Type S
Building on the award-winning second-generation Acura TLX, which went on sale in September, the TLX Type S debuts a brand-exclusive turbocharged V6 engine, sport-tuned chassis with double wishbone front suspension and powerful Brembo® brakes to become the quickest and best-handling Type S in Acura history.
Powering the 2021 TLX Type S, is an all-new 3.0-litre Type S Turbo V6 which builds upon decades of performance engine development experience and motorsports prowess to produce 355 horsepower and 354 lb.-ft. of torque – making it the most powerful Type S yet.
A double-wishbone front suspension and Type S-exclusive Sport+ driving mode also have been specially engineered to provide additional performance and driver enjoyment, and for the first time in a Type S model, power is distributed through Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) system with true torque vectoring.
When it arrives at showrooms in June, the well-equipped 2021 Acura TLX Type S will carry a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) around $60,000[1].
